What we help with
Some of the reasons people come to us. You do not need a name for what you are feeling to book a first conversation.
Worry that loops, a mind that will not switch off, and the physical tension that comes with it.
When work, caring for others or both have used up more than you have.
Trouble falling or staying asleep, and the tiredness and low patience that follow.
Feeling flat, withdrawn or tearful, including after a loss or a hard change in life.
Room to talk about someone or something you have lost, at your own pace.
Reactions that feel bigger than the moment, and their cost at home and at work.
Strain with a partner, parents or children, and conversations that keep going wrong.
Pressures of roles and life stages that are rarely given space of their own.
Your first appointment
Sessions are at least 60 minutes, so there is time to understand the problem properly before treatment begins.
What brings you here, told at your own pace. Nothing is rushed, and you decide what to share.
How things are affecting sleep, work, relationships and health, and what has helped before.
Goals in your own words, and an agreed rhythm of sessions that suits you.
A practical step or tool to use before the next session, so the work continues between visits.
How care works here
What you share stays between you and your counsellor. The only exception is a situation where someone’s safety is at serious risk.
Sessions work towards the goals you agreed, and progress is reviewed together, so counselling does not drift.
Sleep, food and physical pain often travel with emotional strain. With your permission, the rest of our team can help with those too.
Counselling is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. For urgent emotional support at any hour, India’s national mental health helpline, Tele-MANAS, is on 14416. If a concern needs a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist, for example when medication may help, we will say so and help you arrange it.

Who you will see
Counselling and emotional care
Mani Sharma holds a degree in psychology and provides counselling and emotional care at VinayakM. Sessions are one to one, and they begin with listening: to what is weighing on you, and to how it shows up in sleep, work and family life.
From there, Mani agrees with you what to work on and how often to meet, and gives you practical ways to cope between sessions. Because Mani also knows the rest of the clinic, the emotional side of a health problem is never treated in isolation.
